Rising stress in US linked to pandemic-related losses, news

Rising acute stress and depressive symptoms across the US are linked to experiencing multiple stressors triggered by the Covid-19 pandemic, such as unemployment and extensive exposure to pandemic-related news, says a new study. The results, published in the journal Science Advances, suggest the need to step away from the television, computer or smartphone to protect psychological well-being. “The pandemic is not hitting all communities equally,” said lead author E. Alison Holman, Professor at the University of California, Irvine.
