Emily Gallagher Igarta has long had an interest in the medical field having attended a two-week summer pre-med program at UC Irvine in 2012. … “This experience really pushed me to pursue a nursing career because I loved how nurses are at the bedside with the patient, actually doing the hands-on care,” Igarta said. “From there, I knew I wanted to be a nurse, and luckily I got accepted into a four-year nursing program at UC Irvine right out of high school.”
