EVENT: The 34th annual Martin Luther King Jr. Symposium at UCI offers a weeklong program of lectures, activities and events in honor of the slain civil rights leader’s birthday.

WHEN/WHERE: Monday, Jan. 16, to Friday, Jan. 20, at various locations, mostly in the Cross-Cultural Center and the Student Center, both of which are served by the Student Center Parking Structure (grid D9 on campus map: https://communications.uci.edu/documents/pdf/UCI_16_map_campus_core.pdf)

 Jan. 17       Michele Goodwin, Chancellor’s Professor of law, delivers the Dr. Joseph L. White Lecture on “Intersectionality & Coalition-Building,” 6-7 p.m., Student Center’s Crystal Cove Auditorium

 Jan. 18       REAL Talk on intersectionality, noon-1 p.m., Cross-Cultural Center’s boardroom

Jan. 19       “Protecting Communities From State Violence,” noon-1 p.m., Cross-Cultural Center’s Dr. Joseph L. White Conference Room
