UCI has joined Autism Speaks’ Light It Up Blue campaign, a global movement in which thousands of iconic landmarks, buildings, hotels, bridges and retail stores replace their outdoor lights with bright blue bulbs throughout April in recognition of Autism Awareness Month. Each night in April, UCI’s Student Center, on the corner of West Peltason and Pereira drives, and Santa Ana’s Center for Autism & Neurodevelopmental Disorders will glow blue to raise awareness of autism spectrum disorders. Additionally, UCI’s Center for Autism Research & Translation and the Center for Autism & Neurodevelopmental Disorders will host a 5K run/walk to support autism research on Saturday, April 25, at the campus’s Anteater Recreation Center.
