UCI alum returns to campus with ‘Roadtrip Nation’
UCI alum Felipe Hernandez, who graduated in 2012 with degrees in music performance and political science, returns to campus Tuesday, April 14, for a special screening of the one-hour documentary “Why Not Us?”
UCI alum Felipe Hernandez, who graduated in 2012 with degrees in music performance and political science, returns to campus Tuesday, April 14, for a special screening of the one-hour documentary “Why Not Us?” Part of the popular public television series “Roadtrip Nation,” it features Hernandez and fellow first-generation college students traveling the U.S. to interview inspiring leaders who were also the first in their families to go to college. They talked to Girl Scouts CEO Anna Maria Chavez, Grammy and Academy award-winning musician John Legend and Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz, among others. The screening is at 7 p.m. in the UCI Student Center’s Doheny Beach Room A. The documentary airs on public television stations starting April 29.
