UC Irvine’s Institute for Clinical & Translational Science will host its annual Translational Research Day on Friday, June 27. The all-day event features a keynote address by Dr. Chris Austin, director of the National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences, about “Catalyzing Translational Innovation.” The day will include a series of mentor and team science workshops, capped off by the ICTS awards dinner, themed “People Who Make a Difference in Human Health.” This is the sixth Translational Research Day at UC Irvine hosted by the ICTS, which is supported by the NCATS Clinical & Translational Science Awards program. Currently, there are more than 60 CTSA-funded medical research institutions throughout the U.S. The UC Irvine ICTS functions as a local cornerstone for the national program and is dedicated to accelerating scientific discovery and medical breakthroughs to the bedside.
