UCI autism center to screen documentary 'Through the Heart of Tango'

EVENT: UC Irvine’s Center for Autism & Neurodevelopmental Disorders of Southern California is hosting a private screening of “Through the Heart of Tango,” a remarkable documentary about a group of young adults with developmental disorders learning to bond through dance.

WHEN/WHERE: 2-5 p.m. Saturday, March 16, Crystal Cove Auditorium, UC Irvine Student Center (grid E8, bldg. 113 on campus map)

BACKGROUND: Stuart M. and Liza B. Krassner, ambassadors to the Center for Autism & Neurodevelopmental Disorders of Southern California, are sponsoring the event, which will be an excellent opportunity for members of the media to learn about the center and meet those leading the effort to shed new light into the dark mysteries of autism, in turn bringing new help and hope to millions.

The Center for Autism & Neurodevelopmental Disorders of Southern California was created in 2012 with funding from the William & Nancy Thompson Family Foundation and the Children & Families Commission of Orange County. It seeks to offer a continuum of care and pursue new treatments via close collaboration among researchers, physicians, educators and therapists from UC Irvine, Chapman University and CHOC Children’s Hospital.
