UCI’s School of Social Sciences studies contemporary issues affecting individuals, economies, societies and institutions at the local and global level. With expertise in analytic, computational and interpretive methods, as well as a tradition of multidisciplinary collaboration, the school seeks to improve the world through understanding human behavior. Its 138 faculty include 10 members of the National Academy of Sciences or the American Academy of Arts & Sciences. UCI’s largest academic unit, the school serves more than 7,000 undergraduate and graduate students in a variety of nationally ranked programs.
