UC Irvine News Brief: Leading financial magazine again names UCI a 'best value' public college
“Kiplinger’s Personal Finance” rates the campus 17th nationally on its annual list of 100, up from 20th last year.
Kiplinger’s Personal Finance has once again recognized UC Irvine for delivering a stellar education at an affordable price. The popular financial magazine annually chooses the 100 “best values in public colleges,” with UCI ranking 17th nationally for 2010-11, up from 20th in 2009-10. Universities are selected based on academic quality, cost and financial aid. Overall, six UC campuses made the top 40 this year. “Despite rising tuition costs, there are still many first-rate institutions providing outstanding academics at an affordable price,” said Janet Bodnar, Kiplinger’s editor. Complete rankings appear online and in the February 2011 issue.
