Richard Taylor, UC Irvine informatics professor and Institute for Software Research director, has received the 2009 ACM Special Interest Group on Software Engineering Outstanding Research Award. Presented at the International Conference on Software Engineering in Vancouver, Canada, the award annually recognizes an individual who has made significant and lasting research contributions to the theory or practice of software engineering. Taylor’s work involves the design and operation of Web protocols and applications. He also has guided several graduate students over the past decade who have been instrumental in shaping the Web.
