Emulex funds endowed engineering chair at UCI

UC Irvine’s Henry Samueli School of Engineering will establish the Emulex Endowed Chair in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science with the support of $1.5 million from Emulex Corporation. The funds will be used to support the teaching, research and service activities of a faculty member who will be selected after a nationwide search. The Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science includes more than 20 research groups focused on a variety of areas such as embedded systems, computer networks, real-time systems, nanotechnology, communication systems and machine intelligence.
