UC Irvine computer science professor Nikil Dutt has been named as an Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) fellow. The award, which is one of the organization’s highest honors, was given in recognition for Dutt’s work in embedded systems and computer-aided design. The designation is granted each year to a select group of IEEE members for accomplishments that have contributed profoundly to the advancement or application of engineering, science and technology. Dutt also was recognized recently as a distinguished scientist by the Association for Computing Machinery for his contributions to the computing field.
