EVENT:  Ernest Moniz, secretary of the U.S. Department of Energy and a nuclear physicist, will speak with UC Irvine students, faculty and staff about the clean energy revolution.

 BACKGROUND:  Appointed in May, Secretary Moniz will discuss clean energy and the new initiatives he brings to the office. He will answer questions and is particularly eager to hear from students who will be the nation’s future energy scientists, policymakers and consumers. His visit coincides with the U.S. Department of Energy Solar Decathlon 2013 and XPO, running Oct. 3-6 and 10-13 at the Orange County Great Park, in Irvine.
