Tickets on sale for the official world celebration of the 14th Dalai Lama’s landmark 80th birthday and Global Compassion Summit
Three-day summit presented by Friends of the Dalai Lama in partnership with UC Irvine and Center for Living Peace to take place Sunday, July 5 through Tuesday, July 7 at Anaheim’s Honda Center and UC Irvine’s Bren Events Center
Irvine, California, April 2, 2015 – Friends of the Dalai Lama announced today that tickets for the Global Compassion Summit, the three-day, official world celebration of His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s 80th birthday, will go on sale at 10 a.m. PDT today.
His Holiness will attend events on all three days, as world leaders, Nobel laureates, celebrity guests and artists gather to share their best wishes. With the intention of inspiring compassionate action within His Holiness’ diverse global audience, the Global Compassion Summit will spark dialogues on the role of compassion in the environment, the arts and youth leadership.
The event on Sunday, July 5, at Honda Center will take place from noon to 3:30 p.m.
His Holiness’ world birthday celebration will feature extraordinary performances by Tibetan children and world-renowned musicians, as well as a public talk by His Holiness the Dalai Lama and a discussion on Awakening Compassion: The Transformative Power of Creativity and Art.

Two sessions on Monday, July 6, and one session on Tuesday, July 7, will be held at the Bren Events Center at UC Irvine. These events will feature conversations with His Holiness the Dalai Lama and world leaders on climate change and education, as well as a forum for His Holiness and other Nobel Laureates.
