UC Irvine News Brief: UCI nephrology chief honored by American College of Physicians

Dr. Nosratola D. Vaziri, chief of the Division of Nephrology & Hypertension in UCI’s School of Medicine, is the 2010 recipient of the prestigious Laureate Award from the American College of Physicians, Southern California Region II. The award honors internists for excellence in medical care, education and research, as well as community service. In addition to advancing kidney care at UC Irvine Medical Center, Vaziri has conducted seminal research on the progression of kidney disease and the underlying causes of high blood pressure. The American College of Physicians is the largest medical-specialty organization and second-largest physician group in the U.S.
