A team of computer and Web design experts from University of California campuses working on a mobile Web framework won gold in the 2011 Larry L. Sautter Awards. The project is a collaboration among five campuses: UCI, UC Berkeley, UC San Francisco, UC San Diego and UCLA, where it originated. UCI honorees – all with University Communications – were Jim Kreuziger, director of Web communications; Todd McGill, multimedia designer; and Chris Walsh, programmer analyst. A team from UCI and UC San Diego won silver for their online academic personnel review. UCI participants were Joan Tenma, director of academic personnel, and Max Garrick, project manager in the Office of Information Technology. The Sautter Awards, established in 2000, encourage and recognize innovative deployment of information technology in support of the UC mission. Awards will be presented Monday, Aug. 8, at the UC Computing Services Conference in Merced.
