Students in UC Irvine’s master of urban & regional planning program are finalists in Bank of America’s annual Low-Income Housing Challenge. Members of the program’s Planning Studio course have proposed an intergenerational affordable housing development in Brea that addresses the needs of grandparents and other caregivers raising children due to the death, incarceration or incapacity of their parents. This is the first time UCI has participated in the competition. Winners will be announced in May.
