Recipients of the 2014 Living Our Values Awards were honored Wednesday, May 28, at a luncheon hosted by Howard Gillman, Ph.D., UCI provost and executive vice chancellor. The awards honor UCI faculty, staff and students whose actions best embody the university’s values of respect, intellectual curiosity, integrity, commitment, empathy, appreciation and fun. After careful consideration, 11 individuals were selected. They are:

  • Diane K. O’Dowd, professor of developmental & cell biology, Francisco J. Ayala School of Biological Sciences
  • Paul Jesilow, professor of criminology, law & society, School of Social Ecology
  • Robert Moeller, professor of history, School of Humanities
  • Jeanett Castellanos, lecturer, School of Social Sciences
  • Penny Harrell, associate director of student services, Financial Aid & Scholarships
  • Lisa Roetzel, associate director of Campuswide Honors Program, Division of Undergraduate Education
  • Frances Saldaña, assistant director of Corporate Partners Program, The Paul Merage School of Business
  • Andrea Wiley, manager, Department of Developmental & Cell Biology, Francisco J. Ayala School of Biological Sciences
  • Dominique Doan, senior in economics, School of Social Sciences
  • Andy Nguyen Le, senior in criminology, law & society, School of Social Ecology
  • Jessica Dawn Pratt, doctoral candidate in ecology & evolutionary biology, Francisco J. Ayala School of Biological Sciences

All were nominated by colleagues inspired by their contributions to the campus.
